His latest work is pretty average. But his books pre about 1990 are AMAZING. Seriously, you should try a few.
And definitely don't judge his books on the crap films they seem to spawn.

And I might give it ago Zooo, I'm going to be sinking my teeth into some other authors first, I've really started to find a hobby in reading.

Yes Paul. Films adapted from books.
All three were adapted from King's books ...or rather stories or short stories.
But many of King's books were turned into crappy films. But then there's also The Shining, Carrie was good as well. People say The Stand (my fave King's novel) was made into decent miniseries.
But I gave up King some year ago. Gerald's Game and Dolores Clairborne really out out the fire for me.
This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
I loved Gerald's Game!
Brilliant book.

I'd never heard of Green Mile before the movie actually
It was published in about 8 mini books at first. I got them all one by one!
It was supposed to be like when Dickens published his novels in bits in the newspaper, or something...

I think Ella is great!
Currently reading Charlie Brooker's 'Screenburn' (for the second time)
Too many favourite quotes to mention thus far, but here's one:
"Prison Break is as realistic as a cotton wool tiger driving a tractor through a teardrop"

And people were talking about Stephen King books, and that they're better than their movies.
And dog-eared books are better than neat, tidy books.

No they're not. They have to be kept in pristine condition. You have to treat them with respect!
Nooooo!
