I finished The Casual Vacancy 2 days ago. I had been reading it since November :/

Wow??

It must be about 8000 pages long

Or just dreadful

Still reading The Trial of Richard 111 a book based on the C4 programme some years ago but . . .

I've just finished Jean Rhys' Wide Sargasso Sea for my course and it's depressed the living crap out of me. It's a very honest book but it's unadulterated misery from cover to cover.

Luckily it's quite short.

Oh yes a true Wigan Lad, but as they say no one is perfect, although I bet he's more into brioche and sun dried tomatoes than pies now, still you can take the lad out the north......

Radcliffe's Ok, but his books aren't as good. I thank him for Arthur Strong anyway, as he's produced most of the radio series and has championed him for many years. I await with some trepidation the TV series
