The same way they translate anything.

Some translators can transform a good book into a masterpiece. Other times, things get lost in lazy translations.

This. Just Anne Frank's Diary also has a particular emotional aspect which might make it more difficult to translate.

The Hunger Games! A lot better than I was expecting.

I found it very emotional anyway - but one of her diaries was written knowing it might be published. It's the personal one that got to me.

Finished it in 2 days... well the first one. Really enjoyed it, although found the lack of emotion Katniss had quite difficult to connect to.

Yes she was a bit too soulless, I wonder how that comes across in the film, or whether they've changed her.
Shall have to see it now!

I want to read the others first - because I have in my head what things look like and how people sound and don't want it ruined by stupid films.

Ha, yes. The only people I've seen from film clips are Katniss and her stylist. The rest I was able to imagine in my head before seeing the film versions.

Just preordered Pete Townshend's autobiography which will be released in October. I don't know how much you'd pay for shipping from the U.S. but the book is twice as expensive in the UK as in the States.

First on my list after this God awful semester ends. Atm I am just reading my own essays over and over.

Annoyingly, I have the third book in the series, but not the second. Stupid library sale, only having books 1 and 3...

"Love in a Cold Climate"
Vey funny, actually.
