What are you reading right now? Page 107

After the re-emergence of the spat between Dr Ben Goldacre and Gillian McKeith (or, to give her full medical title: Gillian McKeith) I have gone back to read his excellent Bad Science again.

Bloody good read. He uses excellent words like 'poppycock'.

I'm also reading Rabbit, Run, but finding it a bit hard-going.

What's so difficult about the biography of Flanagan and Allen ?

Looking for Alaska - John Green

William Boyd - Restless. He's very good, Boyd, I can see why Ben reads no other authors but him.

An Abundance of Katherines - John Green

Where Do Comedians Go When They Die - Milton Jones

The Beetle - Richard Marsh.

Fabulous stuff, outsold Dracula when first published, don't cha know.

Is it about a monster alien beetle?
Or a man beetle ala Kafka?
Or what?

Sounds interesting.

It's kinda difficult to explain, but it's a kind of shapeshifting beetle from Egypt - there's lots of good old Victorian xenophobia, racism and quite a few naughty sex stuff going on (but in a typical hush hush way) It is great, I would deffo recommend if you like all that Victorian Gothic stuff like Picture of Dorian Gray, Dracula, dr Jekyll etc.

Oooooooooooooh, I'm sold!

Me too!

Yay! Let me know what you think if/when you read it.

Sounds good to me, Mr Balfamajah. I shall scour eBay for it now.
