You can kind of understand why the Beeb want to claw back some revenue from people who don't own a standard TV set though. I would happily pay at least £3.47 per week to ensure that Nick Knowles remained on daytime television.

I really wish that, at some point, I had got the chance to wander round BBC Television Centre. Looked such an amazing place packed full of history.

I think so too, whilst I was working in a related policy area, the Beeb were offering trips to their 'Blue Room' which I think was some kind of future focus tech workshop thingie (their blurb, not mine...) Although, the name 'Blue Room' always reminds me of that rudey nudey play starring Nicole Kidman and later....Maxine from Corrie...

Better than stupid place they've got now with the daft meeting rooms.

Is that the remnants of Television Centre? Someone was telling me that a number of the staff were being housed in a nearby office in White City.

No, it's Broadcasting House that you see in W1A.

I think basically the answer is that the amount of the Fee gets decided elsewhere and the BBC just have to work out a budget and have to work within that amount.
