Hello folks.
Just thought I'd leave this here for any Scottish based comedy creatives. Short Com is running a mini industry and networking day during the Glasgow Comedy and Short film Festival at the Citizen M hotel on March the 14th
The day will kick off with screenings of Short Com's first animation and international shorts programme followed by the first panel talk with key industry gatekeepers from, TV, Film and Radio, discussing what they are looking for in content and what they look for in talent.
Our other key panel talk will be with some of the successful entrants to Short Com's best of programme, the BAFTA nominated Ben Mallaby, viral success story Hot Gulp and the prolific Stuart Laws from Turtle Canyon . Also on the panel is Katie McCullough from Festival Formula who will be offering key advice on film distribution strategies and how to decide what festivals to submit one's film to.
We are looking for a good mix of filmmaking talent, producers, performers and writers looking to collaborate with other creatives to make comedy filmed content. There will also be a small fee for the day, between (£5-£10) that helps to cover our costs. After 6 we will head to a to yet to be decided location for a friendly drink and good mingling.
If interested in attending please email Chris at info@shortcom.co.uk with some information about yourself and evidence of film or creative work.
Later in the evening, Short Com will have it's best of programme screening at the CCA hosted by Scottish comedy legend Greg Hemphill.
