New Linehan/Buxton spaceborne sitcom

"Fr Ted co-creator Graham Linehan is working on a new sitcom called The Cloud which set in a dating club in space.

The Radio Times reports that Linehan, who also created The IT Crowd, is writing the new Channel 4 show with Adam Buxton of Adam and Joe.

The Cloud centres around the crew of a data hub high above Earth. They are employed to protect the vast amounts of information Earth's population stores on endless amounts of communications devices, from pictures of kittens, to selfies, to more sensitive material.

Linehan and Buxton are writing the pilot which will feature Buxton, Ashling Bea and Jamie Demetriou. "

Now I suspect in the first sentence the clueless writer misheard 'data hub' as 'dating club'. We'll see. Possible accusations of 'IT Crowd In Space' aside, it's yay Linehan, yay Buxton and definitely yay Bea from me.

That.

What a terrible article you've copied! 'Ashling'?!

ANYWAY.

Graham talked about this show a little at our conference in November. It sounds potentially rather promising indeed - moreso with Aisling Bea's involvement. She's wonderful.

I'd watch it. Linehan and Buxton - yay!

Buxton was brilliant in The IT Crowd when he thought he was being haunted by Jen. Laughing out loud

And loved Adam and Joe

"The Haunting of Bill Crouse" - that was a great episode, especially when Jen's being pushed along a corridor by that ill messenger and all Crouse can see through the opaque glass is her disembodied head, screaming.

Yup, nearly fell off my chair when I first saw that bit. And when her car broke down in the pouring rain outside his house and she was cursing him through the window with all her make-up streaking - very, very funny.

I like Linehan very much.

His stuff tends to be on (one of) my wavelength(s) - and I am, therefore, looking forward to it. :)
