A Modern Christmas Carol

Hi, I am an aspiring filmmaker and would love to get some feedback on my latest video, thanks a lot - all feedback/reviews are very much appreciated.

This is a short, Christmas narration with hints of comedy thoughout:

Thanks again.

Matt.

First of all, there's nothing particularly Scroogelike about the Scrooge in this - and there's also nothing particularly Christmas-Carol-like about the story, barring the brief appearance of one ghost. The narration in verse is modelled on "The Night Before Christmas", not The Christmas Carol, and the problem with doing the whole thing in verse is that the verse has got to be at least efficient (ie. it's got to scan and rhyme effectively), and this isn't.

However, there's a certain geeky lameness in this which it's hard not to find endearing. In places it's so corny that it does actually raise a grin, and your willingness to put yourself on camera and act everything out in an unselfconscious manner is a plus, which is another way of saying it may be feeble, but at least you throw yourself into it wholeheartedly. You do communicate a sense that you're actually having fun making this, for example in the 'I love this voice' bit at the end.

Happy Christmas!
