I'm starting a new sketch night called Beyond A Joke at the Yesbar Comedy Club in Glasgow for which I will be looking for writers at a not too distant later date. However I'm currently looking for people who might be interested in being part of a small pool of performers who would be available on Tuesdays once a month. The format of the show will be similar to a radio recording apart from the bit where it's recorded and the bit where it's heard on the radio. Essentially, there'll be four actors delivering 10 comedy sketches on stage every month, script in hand so there won't be a painstaking learning of lines required. If you've ever been to The Melting Pot in The Stand in Edinburgh you'll know what I mean. If you've ever been to a readthru you'll also know what I mean.
It's a small friendly venue and I'm not necessarily looking for someone who is an experienced actor with tons of stage time. I'm looking for someone who lives near Glasgow (over 30 ideally but not the end of the world) who can do voices, accents and most importantly GETS comedy and has a passion for all things laughable. If that's you or someone who know then see me after class. Gotta be quick though. I should also mention that the first show is on Tuesday January 13th.
