How to send sitcom to production companies? Page 4

:D

Wow I leave this thread for a little while and all hell breaks loose.

I think it's great how everyone has something a bit different to offer in way of advice and this is what I hoped the thread would achieve.

I did hire a freelance script editor and yes it potentially could be for nothing if the sitcom doesn't sell. However I feel my writing skills have improved immeasurably and the sitcom is in far better shape than it was. If you get one shot then surely my one chance has a better chance of success if a professional writer who has been commissioned, thought the script was funny and has sorted out all the weaknesses/mistakes and highlighted my strengths.

Beforehand I lacked making characters funny and relied on gags that could be fit into any sitcom where as now I have gags which come from character and feel unique to the script.

I'll keep you all posted on how I get on, thanks for the help and advice.

If anyone else has had a success please feel free to let me know.

Cheers Guys
Matt

:D :D

I did get nominated for a Golden Rose but I didn't win so that was a failure! :(

I nearly got the job writing the Status Quo film - does that count?
:D

Did they say back as you were Lazzard?

Not sure I quite catch your lingo, old chap.... ?

Status Quo :)

You never took the Latin, Lazz?

*DOH!*

Well, to be fair.... it is probably why I didn't win! ;)
