8th January Great Yarmouth (Theatre showcase)

Acts are wanted for a new act Comedy Showcase on Thursday 8th January 2015. This is a lovely all-ticket Theatre staged gig in Great Yarmouth. This gig is being co-organised by WCB Comedy and The Court Jesters and is being presented by a pro-MC. This event will receive extensive local press coverage and will replace WCB's monthly pro gig for the month of January. The idea is to offer tickets to regular punters at a price people can afford in January and to also create an opportunity to have strong acts perform five minute try out sets in a theatre setting.

This gig will suit either those acts who can demonstrate that they have a blinding five minutes and want the opportunity to perform it in a theatre or those with considerably more experience who want to build a relationship with WCB and Court Jesters by showcasing 5 of their best in a theatre setting. There are 12 five minute spots on offer. To maintain local press interest - at least 4 acts will be from Norfolk or Suffolk. If you have already performed with WCB or Court Jesters then this won't be held against you.

There is also a competitive element to this gig in that the act who has been deemed to have done the best by the judges will win £50 on the night and will earn the right to call themselves East Coast New Act Winner January 2015. However, the real prize is performing at this lovely venue and building relationships for the future with two 'up and coming' promoters. See here for venue details and details of other promotions. http://www.wcbcomedy.com.

Please note that Great Yarmouth is miles away from most places and the gig is on a Thursday evening so please check that you can travel before applying. If 3-4 acts are all coming from a similar location and agree to car-share then we will make a contribution towards your petrol costs.
