Stand-up is indeed (almost) ALL in the telling.
The Mikey version is the lean, mean, nuts-and-bolts of the set and it's the version that a wise comedian would commit to memory.
The original version, however, is how it might actually be delivered once the comedian is on stage and doing it live in front of an audience.
Some comedians keep it tight while others ramble.
Either way can work, but Mikey's version is the way to go until you're sure the audience loves the sound of your voice.
I like Mikey's version, much slicker. I don't like the reference about the blind though as I don't think we should joke about that
