I like the original. I would not change it.

I love the sketch a lot, Earman!!
Quote: David Bussell @ September 12, 2007, 4:41 PMThank you, I'll take that as a compliment. Looking at it now though, I might lose the last line.
Don't forget to lose the other thirty or so as well.
How can people like this, it's terrible.
Wow, did I just make an enemy? That has to be some of the least constructive criticism ever heard. I don't know where your uncle touched you, buddy.
Naw, Godot's just forthright. You've gotta take the good with the bad It shows people aren't just being nice for the sake of it, you get honest like it/didn't like it reactions and go with the majority...
Forthright, eh?
Godot-damned rude and unconstructive!
Godot does post some interesting and enlightened posts but that was not one of them.
That was a disgraceful post from a self-opinionated know-all!
Hmmm - Frankie, people say this kinda thing about sitcoms all the time (Two Pints? How can people like it? It's terrible etc.). I used to say that about Arrested Development. We shouldn't start censoring comments unless they are meant in an offensive way or a personal attack.
I liked it and thought Sarah's exploding head was great touch.

I am not censoring his post, I am commenting on it.
I found Godots post offensive. Even more so coming from someone who doesn't post any of his work in Critique.
Anyway, putting up posts like that about new writers work in a forum like Critique is not the same as making comments about professionally produced programs on TV, surely you can see that Mr Stratton, sir?
Sure, that's fine. I didn't want David to think he had made an enemy and from GT's posts in the past I think we all get the same level of honesty.
To be fair I occassionally read a sketch and just think 'That just doesn't make me laugh' (this one did) and can't really be more constructive than that. I usually don't comment if that is the case - and if a sketch doesn't have many comments I assume that's why. I don't think this makes me better or worse than someone who does say they don't like it...
IMHO, in the end of the day we all write for an audience and you have to deal with the odd heckler.
Censorship I abhor, Heckling I can stand, honesty I very much welcome, but trolling is the last refuge of the coward.
That's exactly what I felt I was doing, dealing with a troll, which Godot isn't usually as can be seen from some of his worthwhile posts.
As for hecklers, IMHO hecklers deserve all they get!
You can be straightforward and forthright in critique by saying you don't think something is funny without making an ass of yourself.
Jesus.
You don't know where my uncle touched me? I'm a troll and a coward? Because I think your sketch is terrible?
Like most people, I don't comment on things that I think are no good. I made an exception because i think your sketch is very, very unfunny and a number of people liked it. I can't offer constructive criticism because it's 100% shit - in my view. I think
I'm not your enemy. I'm no-one's enemy because they write something I don't like. You will always have the opportunity to amaze me.
I assume F.Rage's comments were tongue-in-cheek since he has offered to hang two people on this forum, and is pretty loose lipped thimself. I haven't posted any material in the critique forum but I have linked to my long-listed Last laugh competition entry on Writersdock a couple of times. Some people here have read it. I think most people get enough of my writing in my posts. There's nothing snide about my criticism. I have used the word 'genius' on this forum in praising other people's work.
In conclusion, a lot of people liked this head-exploding sketch, one person posted to say it was poor. I'd consider that a result.
So you can stop being personally abusive.
When you post on a thread purely to say something is terrible, forgive me, but it does come across as a touch 'snide'.
If you really believe something is 100% irredeemably awful, then there should be a wealth for you to criticise, in which case go nuts. I’m not kidding when I say I welcome people’s opinions, but there’s no use in being contrary just for the sake of it. If something is wholly bad (or even wholly great) then state your case, otherwise what’s the point?
Maybe you just don't like exploding heads?

You can't excuse your disgraceful post by referring to other posts out of context or by being personally abusive. Your post was just downright rude and you continue your rudeness in the post above. Outrageous!
Hanging? Hangings too good for 'em!
Godot, we've all got pretty thick skins on here (and I reckon we need 'em), but your post was pretty crass, you know that.
