Help please - places to send these blog posts?

Hi all,

As some of you are aware I have written a sitcom called Rules of Life based around a character called Stan. The sitcom actually originated from my blog. I just wondered if any of you knew of anywhere (magazines, publications, people) I could send some of my better blog posts to that would give me some money for them. I want to try and earn some extra money on the side and at the same time I would love to be able to get them out to a wider audience.

A couple of examples -

The Interview http://thenewsandme.wordpress.com/2012/06/29/the-interview/

Rex the Cat - http://thenewsandme.wordpress.com/2012/02/27/rex-the-cat/

Old people and Technology - http://thenewsandme.wordpress.com/2012/01/21/old-people-and-the-internet/

Any help you could give me would be much appreciated.

I don't know if these blog posts are appropriate for magazines/publications and if they even give money to authors but thought you guys may know.

thanks!
Steve

Interesting question. Maybe include SEO on your pages which will bring more visitors to your site? Or take up a position of a guest blogger.

I was going to suggest asking people from a comedy website to visit your site, but this will be the action of a looney...

So I don't really care about people coming to my blog as I haven't updated it in ages. I should have worded it better - I am after places I can sell these blog posts to, and to get them to a much wider audience. Magazines etc that I can submit these to.

I have now edited the original post to make that clear. I'm not after cheap hits to my blog!

you could put them on amazon as an ebook

you could put them on amazon as an ebook

not sure why it said that twice

I'm not sure there is really a market for your existing blog posts, but you could look for elance jobs on a similar theme. Soots is your man for advice about elance.

Well no ones going to pay you for preexisting blog posts on your own project.
But you could use them as samples if you wanted to write blog posts for other people.

If you bundle them together add some links to your videos, you could sell it as a book on Kindle.
But they'd have to be an interesting self contained story.

In the world of freelancing it's easier to polish a turd then sell a diamond.

Hi Steve, I enjoyed what I saw of Rules of Life, I think you've really got something with it.

When I said you could stick your blog posts onto a kindle book, I hadn;t actually read any of it, but anyway just read the examples you posted. In my book, they all need cutting down - any comedy should be striped down like a sitcom - but if you did that, they'd be very funny and like Sooty and Jennie said you could use them as part of a portfolio type thing.

And when I said you could stick them up on kindle, I was thinking like Danny Wallace's bits from his newspaper column - but again, they would need stripping down and refining
