A Sitcom About Death Page 2

What about a sitcom about a bloke who think's he's death? But he isn't, he's just a nutter in a robe with a gardening implement.

That was The Gnomes of Dulwich.

And remember a scythe is just a disappointed man with a lisp.

as there are no copies of that sitcom you can say what you like about it, like religion

I rest my case :)

Yes, but sitcoms about self-sufficiency or defending Walmington are not the norm. Your logic seems to want to remove them as well?

You seem to be misunderstanding setting and theme with character based narrative impetus. But that's ok it's not easy. A truly original setting can be interesting, but it is never of itself a particularly strong sales point. For a totally new writer it is exponentially the opposite. It's a bit of frosting, the commissioners and their bosses, the public, want the cake.

Kind of agree that imbuing the grim reaper with banal human like traits to get laughs has been done a fair few notable times and I can't really agree that the premise is particularly original, in the same way that say, a 6 part mini series about a womanising, ragga lyric spouting sparrow called derek could be said to be original. The writing is good though, fluent. Tells the story well, but just too lacking in jokes for that initial bit that you posted to really grab me.

Thank you very much. I must say, I am very pleased with the constructive criticism. While I researched the forum quite thoroughly, I was still a bit apprehensive as to the response. Thank you all very much. I'll shall bring more of my work here, in future, for your feedback and I too look forward to leaving some as well.
