Mark from the Hull Blokes has asked me to tell everyone that the Fetch-a-Sketch competition is now closed to entries.
He also wants to extend a huge thank-you to everyone for the interest and support that has been shown.

I wonder when we'll be finding out about our successes and failings?

I emailed the 'The Hull Blokes' today and they said they had around 100 entries, so still haven't picked a winner yet. They could have an answer by tonight though.
Wooooo!
'ere thee go 'eres t'winners.
Well the results are in and....................I didn't win! I got on to the shortlist though, so thats certainly encouraged me to keep on writing.
Below is the email they sent me:
Well, it was a big job in the end, with over 100 sketches to consider, but we finally got there!
We ended up with a short-list that included your own "Swimming Pool High Jinks", along with entries from Chris Pearson, David Isaac, Mark Bell, Paul Birtwhistle and Danny Banks, but eventually we plumped for Chris Pearson’s piece - working title “Horse Vet”.
We usually have our shows filmed (although it can be a bit of a lottery as to the quality of footage that we achieve!) so we will try and ensure that this sketch – along with others from the show - is posted on our website and/or YouTube.
We really would like to be able to hang on to your sketch though - we really liked the abusrdity of it - and it could be something we might use at some point in the future (you would have the writing credit for it, of course). However, we will understand completely if you'd rather we didn't, and that would be just fine.
So we really would like to say a great big thank you for your support in taking part – we never imagined we would reach such a wide audience, despite publicising it in cyberspace! It just goes to show the incredible power of the internet and the value of it to creatives like ourselves.
Once again, a really genuine thank you from all of The Hull Blokes.
Yep shortlist for me too.
Still that's an achievement considering how many entries.
So I am midly chuffed still
My mate Danny Banks from Sheffield says he's reet pleased to be on't shortlist 'an all!
To the real Danny Banks... well done mate!
Shortlist for me.
Well done to those who made the short list and well done to those who make shortbread, it tastes delicious, keep it up.
Well done all those who made the shortlist. It's still a great achievement...depending upon how short the list actually is.
