City of London

Just picked up a leaflet for the City of London Festival. Seems they are having comedy this year in a giant Bowler Hat by St Paul's Cathedral. Anyone know anything about it? Some familiar names Jenny Eclair, Russell Kane, Bridget Christie. Right by my office so could be a good night out.

Well, David, what an interesting and promotional post. I'd like to hear more about your office. How many desks does it have?

The office for tapping the phones of smartarses like Ben.

It's a very nice office thank you, south side of St Paul's with a great view. Could post pics if you like. Nice to have something on the doorstep for a change that's all.

F**k the office - tell us about the doorstep!!!

Doorstep generally unimpressive, concrete, good at collecting rubbish and the occasional late night drunk.

That's where you know shaggy from!

How very dare you! I make sure I'm awake and off that unimpressive doorstep by early evening at the latest.

Who needs to think up dialogue for scripts.

It's improv right here.

Cracking Banter! Seriously though it's pretty rare for me to see anything more interesting than the Lord Mayors Show down this part of town so I for one will try to get along to a show or two.

What about that anti capitalism show a year or two back? That was a hoot. Certainly livened the CofE up, like watching a religious schism on reality TV.

I'd forgotten about that. It's surely only a matter of time till some university students take Occupy the Musical to Edinburgh.

Went to the Bowler Hat by St Paul's last night. Strange and a little noisy but a good atmosphere. Alex Horne was bizarre but brilliant, although a few Friday night post-work beers contributed to my general good mood. Am off to Richard Herring tonight and Mark Watson next Friday. May give the mid-week stuff a miss though, school night and all that.
