Bad characters in great films Page 2

I found the Hitler character unlikeable in Downfall.

I'm no feminist (I'm not, really, please stop rolling your eyes, I'm being truthful) but...female characters in action and superhero films really do get the shitty end of the stick. They're usually nothing more than a pair of tits for the good guy and bad guy to fight over.

I think we're slightly diverging on this topic, we're mainly pointing out bad actors and not bad characters.

Sometimes the two collide - Jar Jar Binks, but other times, you think that the character was well written but the actor was not up to the job - Mike in the Young Ones.

I think In the Anniken/Star Wars case, it was a poorly written character played by an absolutely horrendously terrible actor.

I agree about Mike. It was written specifically for Peter Richardson to play. Unfortunately he didn't want to play the part without also being a producer and having a level of control over the project.
