Al Feldman of Mad magazine dies

You don't have to worry anymore Alfred.

I used to love Mad Magazine. However, it has been several years since I actually read one.

Still, he should be remembered for spearheading modern American satire and inspiring several generations of comedians, actors, artists and film makers. I don't think we'd have National Lampoon or Saturday Night Live without the ground breaking work of Mad Magazine.

He can have one of my rarely given out RIPs.

He'd stopped drawing for Mad when it dipped.

But before that from the 60s-80s it was incredibly influential, mixing satire, humour and really remarkable art.

RIP indeed.

I used to buy the occasional Mad magazine when I was younger and always enjoyed it. I had a few of the paperback collections which came out as well. All very American and irreverent and something that the UK has never matched.

I'd Viz had the wit and was over all funnier, but not the art and subtlety. Probably my favourite was the film piss takes.
