I'm saying it has two shoes which is of course too many
Not as bad, I admit, as feet which don't have any.
One over the usual number that most feet like to wear
Your feet are only meant to wear just half a pair.
Your podiatric pedantry of which you stated strongly
Is at my verse, quite perverse as it's targeted quite wrongly.
Two shoes too many simply isn't what I said.
I wrote two shoes are too many, get that inside your head!.

You said far too many when in fact it is only one too many.
I know all about feet in poetry. ;)
