Ideas for a comedy

I am thinking of making a comedy based around a news broadcasting network where the news anchor is the only sane person in the room. Every other reporter has a bizarre personality of some sort.

Any ideas?

Like pitchng a comedy set in a hotel, or an office, I'd say at the moment, pitching a comedy in a newsroom will be difficult because of Anchorman.

I don't like to be one of those guys who points out fifty different things that are similar in concept to what someone has come up with, because how would I know that yours might not have a unique angle?

But in my mind, comedy should offer a new and fresh perspective on something we haven't considered. The news has been a target for comedy and satire since as far back as the first instances of recorded print.

What would your concept bring to the table? Would the "news" be entirely made up or would it be ripped from the headlines? Is it going to be a satire about the state of the media? Is it a blend of humourous situations occurring in a semi-realistic environment like in Scrubs?

To echo what has already been said, be careful not to step on the toes of Drop The Dead Donkey as well, where George was basically the "sane" character in the middle of a bunch of dysfunctionals.
