Careful, don't ask too many questions! ;)

But all I want to know is..........hang on, there's someone knocking on the door, be back in a minute...........

You silly twisted boy, you. Let me tell you a tale.

And this is where the story really starts..........

Umm, have a couple of TG on tape, and although I think the puppets are a very good portrayal, they didn't transfer well to TV.

For me, listening to my tapes or CDs, which I never tire of, I get far more enjoyment "watching" the story unfold in my head.

Pull up a chair. I have all the Telegoons on file, and while it's a truncated form and restricted by what was visually possible with puppets, there are some good visual jokes. Specifically, I recall Hercules Grytpype Thynne taking off numerous pairs of false glasses/moustaches, one after the other. I forget which episode.

Ummm, that's interesting because I don't recollect that gag in the radio series, from which I thought all the TG were reconstructed.

One of the segments I remember was in one of the two Robin Hood radio progs. where they were climbing up a prison wall on top of each other's shoulders, rotating the characters until they got to the top, and Neddie says something along the lines of "Let's see if they can do this on television"

Don't think they made any TG especially did they?

It was a new gag for the magic of TV. They did a few new silly visuals for TV shows. There is something quite amusing about watching, in 2014, an ungainly puppet in 1963 stiltedly removing gag disguises. Especially when it's Sellers doing his best Goon character. It may have been from the Whistling Spy Enigma. Too busy to check - all episodes are on an external drive and me only available USB port at present is giving me gip.

Ah, now - based - on radio episodes. I always thought they were the original soundtracks, or am I misunderstanding i.e. that they come into a studio and re-read the scripts for TG?

By coincidence, I think this rescued clip is from the Whistling Spy Enigma - yes? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EB7eep-fK8Q

Classic, brilliant.........

Pull up a chair. I'm pretty certain a chap named Maurice Wiltshire adapted the few selected scripts with Milligan's blessing and the trio then re-recorded them.

Pull up a chair. By coincidence, the guy who restored/uploaded that clip is an old friend I've not seen for many years. Glad to see he's not dead yet (at least as of that 2011 upload).

And hope your mate is still with us!
