Mark Steel's in Town Page 2

Excellent to see this back. As someone has said above, Mark's painting the picture of history with humour is amazing.

Quality stuff

Another quality episode this week. Guaranteed laughter, you don't always get that.

I am delighted to see that my choice - Mark Steel's In Town was voted best radio entertainment show in this years BCG awards. Consistently funny, engaging and interesting. Well deserved that man.

Having just visited one of the towns he covered - St Davids - it was great to see just how accurate it was. I'm tempted to try a few more day trips to a couple of the other towns.

Not a town...

Maybe if you write nicely to Mark he'll consider changing the Title to 'Mark Steele's in Town Unless Wimsett Is Not Satisfied it is a town'?

Blame the Welsh, they made it a city.

New series started on Tuesday R4 in Bedford.

Not a town...

And now for pedants everywhere, I'd like to sing a couple of numbers from my latest album............

"A foggy day in London TOWN.............................."

"Chicago, Chicago, that toddling TOWN.................."

Was top quality as usual.

I agree with Will Cam.

Quality stuff.

What I like is the way he picks up on things you have noticed when on holiday.

The mountain goats at Lynton, the lack of a beach at Matlock and the way in which Ventnor has a horrible old underground train, subsidence and thinks it is a tropical paradise.
