The past decade for sitcoms...

I hope this is ok but in another thread the following comment was made and it had me wondering if it's true:

last 10 years has been the worst decade ever for British sitcom

Has the past ten years really been so bad with the likes of Inbetweeners, Miranda, Peep Show, Spy, Pulling etc.

As I am not always based in the U.K. though, maybe I have just missed some of the worst shows...

Even if it is true, with only 5 decades contending for top spot they're all in the top 10 sitcom decades of all time.

In my expert opinion, there have been several great sitcoms, even more okay ones, and a lot of not very good ones. If you made a list of the very good ones, I imagine you'd end up with more than you'd think.

I think the 00s was as good a time as ever for sitcoms.

Given that the recent culture has generally been for shorter runs of series, we've probably had a decent number of programmes with few episodes (rather than the longer runs prevelant in the 60s & 70s) with some notable exceptions, such as Peep Show.
