Two Doors Down Page 4

Your welcome for the articles, thank you for disscusing the tv zone pictures, I'll have a look at them in a bit. The other lesbian, if I remmber correctly is called Lin, I am looking forward to seeing them and Siobhan Redmand as Colin's new love interest, she was great in the Catherine Tate show.

I love Two Doors Down, it's a really great show, the best show on telly for the last few years in my view.

Some first-look pics have been posted by TVZone (https://www.tvzoneuk.com/post/twodoorsdown-s6pics). From it, I get the sense that Siobhan Redmond's character is quite close to Colin; at first I thought she might be his mother, but I'm unsure given the age of his father in previous episodes (in his 80s IIRC). It also looks like we're finally getting Ian and Gordon's lesbian friends (Morven(?) and the other whose name I can't recall), and an episode featuring the entire ensemble in the midst of a heatwave (which, funnily enough, is an idea for an episode I'd thought of as ideal for a while). Arabella Weir also appears to have resorted to her character's normal hairstyle, which she wasn't able to do for the past series (I did come across the reason why, but I've long since forgotten!).

And, ta for those articles!

the heatwave episode sounds great

Yeah looks like we might be meeting Morven and Lin/Lyn (however it's spelt), I always expected they'd be those 'unseen characters' many sitcoms have, ha.

A new interview with Elaine C Smith, very good stuff, enjoy!

Cheers! And re: that line at the end about talks for a seventh series, I wouldn't be surprised. The BBC seem to be going all in on the show for this series; I haven't seen it advertised so prolifically... ever! It's rather stark considering I don't even think they bothered to show any promos for the last series, or the one before IIRC.

And just a note on broadcast, BBC Programmes online now has details of all episodes available. Based on the fact they all have "09 November 2022" listed on their respective pages, I'm guessing that means this series will get the boxset treatment as the second half of the last did; i.e. all episodes made available after the first is shown on BBC2 on Wednesday. Though, as with s5b, I'll likely stick to watching it weekly.

I am glad that it's getting such press, it's the best show on tv in my view. I can see it easily running till about series 10 or [hopefully] beyond.

Another great piece for Two Doors Down.

Two Doors Down returns tonight at ten on BBC2. It's seems to be the most hyped series of it really and this is series 6, hopefully [ a possible] series 7 gets even more hype!

Such a great show, the best on tv

A very interesting story, it talks about the future of the show. Can't wait for the new series tonight!

Once again, thanks for the articles. Gosh, they really have been making sure the cast etc. are out there promoting it in the press this series, aren't they, on top of such extensive TV advertisement.

A solid outing for tonight's s6 premiere. As usual, rather understated throughout, but, probably provided you're used to the characters and how they react to things, big chuckles too. Felt like the calmer episodes of the first couple of series, and that's not necessarily a bad thing; it's certainly a stark comparison to the s5 opener, which was quite fast-paced and suffered for it IMO. It's going to take some time for the new dimension to the show to bed in, the same with the arrival of Gordon and the departure of Sophie, but based on tonight I think they're going to handle it well. Did end up being somewhat anticlimactic, though, as I fully expected Colin to get violent at some point!

Couple of other notes: Colin's lack of lechery over Michelle seemed a tad out-of-character, unless her presence wasn't as tantalising, so-to-speak, now that he's single. Gordon doesn't seem to have been as Flanderised as some of the episodes in s5 had him, which is a good sign, and what was going on with the lighting? Unless Beth thought just putting the lamps on would be more comforting and more subtle than just bunging the big light on?!

I've watched it a couple of times but it just seems like a cross between the Royle Family and Gavin and Stacey with different accents. Not overly impressed.

Completely agree it was a great opener, the press stuff this year for the show has been excellent. I can't wait for next week's episode.

Based on last night episode's would you say it's got enough mileage for a series seven

But actually funny.

Colin's lack of lechery over Michelle seemed a tad out-of-character, unless her presence wasn't as tantalising, so-to-speak, now that he's single.

Was it not obvious that he was severely depressed? When you've got such a freshly broken heart I can't imagine being quite so lecherous or flirtatious with anyone else. It'd have massively jarred if he had suddenly perked up from such a subdued demeanour.

There may have been a bit when she said there's still plenty of life in him and he responded a bit weirdly, but that could have been an odd boast, rather than letching.

He was also managing (poorly) to put a bit more of a brave face on with everyone until Alan mentioned Sharm El Sheik, ha.

Siobhan Redmond appears to be a new love interest for him and I bet the oddness continues! I feel like watching all of them but will probably just watch on BBC 2 or the same day on iPlayer.

I rewatched the 2017 Christmas special on Britbox last night, it was brillant; maybe the best episode from the earlier series.
