I got another error email, I only sent one entry in?
Red Planet Page 11
This wins for the most complicated competition to enter EVER.
Quote: zooo @ September 5, 2007, 12:28 PMIn that he says he wants "PROOF THAT YOU DID SEND IT IN ON TIME, NO LATE ENTRIES PLEASE"
How does one do that?
I'm not sure but I'm going to be forwarding the first email I recieved saying that I had entered the competition, and the second one saying my email didn't go through. I hope that works
My only email said the competition had closed, even though it definitely hadn't.
If I forward that email, will they be able to tell what time that email was originally sent?
Oh for god's sake, I'll go and send it to myself and see.
Is it worth all this trouble?
(Only if I win.)
It has all the time details on it if you forward it, which will prove that you sent your entry in on time.
Hurray!
Thanks.
No problem.
And - best of luck to everyone. I hope someone from this forum wins
0.65% chance of someone winning per entry. I need to stop working on the stats. I'm literary now.
Quote: Robin Kelly @ September 5, 2007, 12:20 PMDanny Stack, who is running the competition, has posted an update about the problems on his blog: http://dannystack.blogspot.com/2007/09/red-planet-meltdown.html
My main character is called Danny ... it's a sign ... I'm gonna win!
You have The Shining!
Hi Guys - I'm new to this site and to this forum - so it's great to meet you all and best of luck to all who have entered the Red Planet Contest. The thought of getting representation appealed to me, and the 5000 smackerroonies of course, and the workshops .... and the lack of entrance fee !!!
I sent mine Friday lunchtime, received a reply almost instantaneously to say that it had been accepted. Today (Wednesday) I got a Mail Server blah-de-blah message saying that due to the full mail box of the recipient my mail was undelivered.
I went to the Red Planet site, got Tony Jordan's email address and emailed him about the problem. Within 20 minutes I received a reply from Simon Winstone. he explained that there will be a resubmit address, but that only people who had submitted by the original (extended) deadline could use it. The address is : [email protected]
Simon also invited me to email him back to confirm that I had resubmitted.
I thought that response was excellent - and I don't envy them the amount of reading that they have let themselves in for !
Here's the Bio that I submitted :
Julie Henson – Bio
Having dragged my daughter into adulthood, I gave up a sensible life in the UK (teaching language, pension plan, lawn mower) to move to France and to concentrate on my writing.
My ambition had been to write my stories as novels and I have many unfinished manuscripts. Two years ago, somebody introduced me to screenplay writing and I found my métier.
I finished my first screenplay – “Brian and the River Horse” in September 2006. It took me a year to write and my learning curve was perpendicular throughout the whole process. But it was fun.
I spent the winter trying to get an agent. It was the singular most depressing and disheartening activity that I have ever undertaken.
I decided to extend my œuvre in the hope that if I had more to offer an agent might just take a look at my work.
I wrote my second screenplay, “Secrets Rising” in five months and started “Purl Two Together” this summer.
I submitted the first ten pages of all three screenplays - one a family drama, one a romantic/mystery/thriller (both finished) the current one is my first comedy script.
I'm very shy and rarely have much to say for myself
Good luck everybody
Hi Julie and welcome
I've entered a couple.
Good luck to everyone who's entered.
Yay! Done it.
And a sweet email auto reply from them too.
Thanks Julie and welcome to the BSG
Oh yeah, hi Julie!
