Breaking the fear of flopping...

Before anyone, or at least 99.9 %, does their first stand-up show they are likely to be terrified about being majorly awful and no one laughing, right?

For all of you who are currently in the stand-up business how did you get pass the fear of the initial few performances, and also how did you know that you were funny enough for stand-up?

Well first of all everyone dies on their arse every now and then

I did a course first helped alot I'd reccomend it.

Otherwise practise on your mum, friends what ever, jokes on stage have their own rhythmn and style you need to learn.

You can be very funny, but still need learn to be stage funny

Have a word with yourself

It was the comedy school one, I'm not sure I'd really reccomend it.

Logan Murray seems to be the gold standard, although Chris Head seems to have a good rep, as does Laughin Horse (who have the advantage of providing their own gigs)

Upto you a £200 course maybe brilliant, or I did one in Hull for £25 as a refresher which was just what the doctor ordered and had a lovely gig at the end.

But maybe like I say try out friends or family

Where as Viagra is poor preparation for a performance if you're doing ballet.

Not even The Nutcracker?
