Ruth Jones Page 2

What a note to end on, Charley. Laughing out loud

I agree with the original post, she has played a lot of different roles, very well and co-written a decent sitcom. Coogan chose her for the role in Saxondale so we are in good company David C.

PS: No, I'm not Ruth Jones - I can't speak for David C tho.

Money tastes good. Might be more than £1 though. ;)

I reckon he killed himself when the series finished anyhoo.

Why is it all the wrong ones die? Why not the writers of G+S?

I agreed with Godot in his conclusion. Tres sus. That Josh claimed he/she was pals with the director didn't champion the cause.

This is just my opinion and it is very regularly wrong, esp when SlagB disagrees.

I think SlagA and ...er.. me are right.

Who else reads ALL the reviews except the writer?

Who else would post on 1 thread 31 times and then vanish?

Someone in the latter stages of alzheimers?

Or a suicidal-ist.

Or a fan just sticking up for a show that they like (for whatever reason), who has no real interest in chatting about comedy with a bunch of strangers, much less strangers who take every opportunity to ridicule and insult them for liking the programme in question. Just a thought.

Tis strange, though I also think Ruth Jones is excellent, especially in Nighty Night.

Id agree with that. Harsh but fair! That whole Gavin and Stacey thread was absurd, the level of vitriol that spewed forth! I thought it was all a bit ugly and pathetic.

I was really just to point out how versatile she is. How many comedy actors/actresses can you think of who've played 4 such different characters so well?

Most of the time they're playing the same character.

Oi I was nice to him!
I was not "Lord of all Evil" to him. No Siree.

That is a travesty of what happened on that thread. No-one was ridiculed for liking the show. The show itself was criticised at a script level and moreover it was those critics who were accused of cynicism by the show's fans as if their views were somehow not genuine.

Josh Dulaney actually accused people who criticised the show of being jealous of its writers' success, which is the lowest possible blow that it is possible to land on a writer.
