Quadrophenia

Quadrophenia is a 1979 British film, loosely based on the 1973 rock opera of the same name by The Who. The film stars Phil Daniels as Jimmy, a Mod. It was directed by Franc Roddam in his feature directing début. Unlike the film adaptation of Tommy, Quadrophenia is not a musical film.

I Love this film.
does anyone else like this film?

It's not a comedy, as far as I remember.

Nil Putters if you have a look at the header of this thread it says Films, Comedy Drama & Other

Comedy films, comedy drama, comedy other... I'd imagine.

If Quadrophenia isn't a comedy film this thread belongs in General.

*looks at imdb and moves thread*

IIRC, I actually laughed quite a lot when I last saw it. Yes, it's a hugely enjoyable film, which hasn't so much dated as matured nicely over the years, looking better now than it did when I first saw it.

...and it has a great soundtrack, obviously.

I'm a big fan of Quadrophenia. Got it for Christmas when I was 16 and it was quite influential on me.

A few of my friends got paid as extras on that film. They were latter day Mods and had gone to Brighton for the weekend on their scooters.

I see them quite plainly on the 'beach fight' scenes. They told me the fighting looked so real because they were actually punching and kicking anything that came within range.

They got paid £34 per day for having the time of their lives.

Wow Stephen that is wicked can you see them in the film or was it off screen?

One of them has ginger hair so he sticks out as they rush down a slope onto the beach. So I look for him and then always see the others.

They are old men like me now :)

Well it obviously had a musical soundtrack using the Who's songs re-recorded from the original album.
