Online presence

I've been thinking about starting up a website to show where I'm performing, do a bit of bloggin, that kind of thing. Would it be worth my while? I'm not terribly knowledgeable when it comes to web design, so I'd use something basic like http://website.1and1.co.uk/how-to-build-a-website to set up my website.

Or would it be more senseible to use things like Facebook and Twitter as they have a potential audience there already?

Or am I talking nonsense completely?

Thanks

Charlie

Cheap websites tend to look cheap and don't enhance your image. Get a following first on Twitter/Facebook start a blog post stuff on YouTube and then if things take off get a professionally designed site. This is just my opinion however.

AN online presence for that sort of thing is only worth it if you're a pro and then only for your paid gigs. If you're an open mic comedian I would advise against it - I've seen open micers get slammed for trying stuff like that.

But that's just my opinion

Twitter is your best bet. Be a strong presence on there.

Thanks, everyone, I'll have a re think and try to build up some twitter followers :)
