BBC pays £7504 for a 60 minute drama by an unknown writer. Longer or shorter is pro rata. By that reckoning 30 minutes is £3752. I think the first time it's repeated on domestic TV you get the same again. The second time nothing. After a long period of time the repeat fee increases, because a show is unlikely to be repeated ten years after it was made etc.

Ok - cheers Godot.

That's about what a Greek Urn's...

So a series would be £22,512.

Add a couple of Dr. Who episodes (if you get in with RTD)

£37,520

And a three sketches on The Friday Night Project.

£37,520.03

Not bad for your first year.

I've heard something similar to the figures mentioned above but I believe you get repeat fees (royalties) forever. I went to a talk by the guy who wrote 'Some Mothers Do Ave Em' and he was still living off them. As long as you get a decent agent you'll get DVD royalties too.

Its quite nice to image being a successful writer... right, back to that spillage in aisle 7.

Thank god for UK Gold then, a successful sitcom will be repeated for evernever. I wonder if that includes online downloads too - like the iplayer.

Sorry about that ContainsNuts, I got excited and dropped a bottle of heinz extra fruity. I'll help you mop it up.

That's in my plan!

How amazing would that be?

Already bought my tickets.

Oooh. That looks good!
Could only be made better by a Mark Gatiss appearance.
He's the person whose career I'd like to emulate. Bit of TV writing, a few novels, and maybe even a bit of gay erotic fiction under an assumed name. ;)
He's ace.

True - but he can also play the acting card. Wonder if I should start making an effort in that direction. Prbly not attractive enough for TV.

You may be ok on one of those channels where the picture quality is not so good? :)

Simon, you look like a Greek God.

Certainly show up that annoying bloke in the corner.

I comment about my attractiveness and I get a response from two blokes. Story of my life.

There are no decent birds on here, mate, you're better off with a hand shandy.

I am hurt and appalled. APPALLED.
