Short TV sketch

hi all, I had this thought for a TV sketch last night whilst bored at work and thought I'd just drop it in here to see what you think, hope you enjoy :)

Ext: A park and a man dressed in sandals, slacks, a tweed jacket and sporting a fine moustache is looking into bushes and the undergrowth whilst poking it with a stick.

Man

MONKEY!...MONKEY!
Oh where are you you stupid brown....
MONKEY!

(A middle aged woman approaches him to a distance of about five feet behind him)

Woman

Excuse me

Man (turns quickly and snaps at the woman)

WHAT!

Woman (cowers back a little)

I'm sorry, but are you looking for a monkey?

Man (looks incredulous)

WHAT! Of course I'm not looking for a monkey! What makes you think I'm looking for a monkey?

Woman (confused)

Well you're poking through the undergrowth and you keep shouting 'monkey'.

Man

Do I look like an imbecile?

Woman ( a little frightened)

Sorry?

Man (advances a little)

Do I look so stupid and so devoid of imagination that if I had a monkey the best name I could possibly come up for it would be 'monkey'?

Woman

Well, no, I suppose...

Man (interrupting)

I suppose if I had a dog you would think I'd called it dog, or a horse, ho...
(Looks past woman and shouts)

MONKEY! COME HERE! NOW!

(camera cuts to a nearby building and from around the side of the building has just walked a monk, eating chips from a bag. The monk hears the shout, looks panicked, throws the bag of chips into the air and scarpers back the way he came)

(camera cuts back to man and woman)

Man

MONKEY, GET BACK HERE!

(pushes woman out of the way and goes running after monk all the time shouting MONKEY)

Please feel free to comment ;)

Fabulous nothing more to add

Other than booyah!

Thank you sootyj, I think I'm just going to send you my stuff to look at, you always make me feel good :)

Ha Ha... Yeah, I liked this too. Silly and I could visualise it really well. I like the imagery of a Monk eating chips from a bag. Nice one.
... just thought.... instead of a man looking for Monkey could it be a Nunn?... to obvious perhaps.

Now this is good - I like the ranting logic about the name (I bloody would, of course), but the silly ending really made me giggle.

Would make a lovely visual sketch...there's something about Monks, and monkey's for that matter, that just lends itself to comedy.

Especially chip monks.

:D

Or Monkfish.
