Tuumble's bachelor flat thread Page 8

Or saying that 6 o'clock is the afternoon.

Target. Famous retail chain with 'discount' prices.

Registry. Wish-list.

Target sells clothes, toy, books and DVDs, household good etc. We have stores here in Australia- I don't think they are exactly like the US ones. From what I've read I think that the Woolworths stores you used to have in England/U.K. sound similar to Target. In Australia Woolworths is one of the major supermarket chains.

A gadget I'd recommend is the WDTV Live Media Player:

It can handle just about any video, audio or image file you throw at it, and it also allows you to access sites like YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr and Facebook via your TV.

The other day I even got mine to play back a 1080p 60fps video with a bitrate of nearly 40mbps.

Spam! Spam! Call the moderators! Ban him! Burn him! Bum him! In that order.

Soots, I'm not in a hurry to do any bumming but if I had to I'd rather reorder that list. Errr

Agreed. It's a terrible oversight on his behalf. Surely bum him, burn him, ban him?

Although having a quick chat with Aaron on whether Betamax was better than VHS should finish him off just as well.

Yes, it was.

WDTV Live Media Player

Does a media player offer any advantage over using a computer?

There's a very serious debate going on in Facebook as to which end up Tuumble should store his ironing board. Pointy end or ironing end? (this is sounding like the eggs in 'Gulliver's Travels')

Pointy end up, definitely. Then the heavier end is at the bottom so it's less likely to fall over.

That's what I said.

*high five*

Bet Tuumble gets a sort to do it for him.

Ironing that is.

Ha! The ironing board debate started when my lady told me off for putting HER ironing board back in HER cupboard the pointy way up. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks I'm right to have it that way. :)

FLAT UPDATE: I was due to have the inventory for the flat at 6pm tonight but found out yesterday that the builders aren't finished and I can't move now until Wednesday. They wanted to do it 6pm that night but as I'm out that evening it would've meant that I wouldn't be able to move until Thursday. I stamped my feet a bit and got it brought forward to the morning.

It's a good job I've got somewhere to stay as that could've been a pain in the arse. Tonight I'm staying at my old house as the rest of the family are in Kent and then for Saturday through to Tuesday I'll be staying with either my dad or my sister.

The list of essential items has been cracked but I'm still a bit light on furniture. I've been promised a bookcase from the IT Manager, a comfy chair from my sister and a sofa bed from a friend of a friend which is coming next week. I've bought a little table and two chairs for £25 from a Sue Ryder shop which I'll pick up this weekend.

Not sure whether I said but there was a bed issue too because the ex still has the mattress for the old marital bed while I've got the bed frame (she didn't want that). The plan was for me to have the mattress as well but at the moment she hasn't got the cash for a bed of her own. In the end I bought a new mattress even though I won't be at the flat to take delivery on Monday.

Not sure how much I've spent yet but I think I've got good value. Here's the secured items I have whether free, borrowed or paid for...
