What are you working on and what are your plans? Page 4

My current plans are to wait for the next open submission opportunity which is non-topical.

Laughing out loud Yes, I'm pretty similar. However, seeing as they don't come along very often and none of the huge wodge of sketches I sent to TSWYW got anywhere, it might not be a great plan. Whistling nnocently

1. Set in a children's TV studio. 3 presenters. A cuddly uncle type like Brian Cant. He's unsackable and likes drink, drugs, and unusual sexual activities, NOT LIKE BRIAN CANT. A new, young, naïve and enthusiastic woman. An older, bitter, cynical, scheming man who knows he's the next to go. Main storylines involve back stage naughtiness, stupid bosses, and rivalry.

I think this is a lovely idea for a sit com, or comedy film, but I'm afraid I think its time has past: can't see anyone making anything about the dark side of kids' TV presenters any time soon.

Wouldn't that just involve taking your hat and neckerchief off?

I also shave my fur for the occasion

Just got my first response from a production company that had actually READ my script. The chappy said it didn't make him laugh.

THAT IS OBVIOUSLY EVERYBODY'S FAULT BUT MINE!

HE'S LYING, THE PAPER I PRINTED IT ON WAS UNFUNNY, HE WAS BEING MIND CONTROLLED BY ALIENS, THE POST OFFICE SUBSTITUTED A CRAP SCRIPT FOR MY ONE!!

And breathe...
Still going over making improvements and waiting for more responses.

That's a terribly unfair bit of feedback, scripts rarely are laugh out loud funny off the page.
Especially if it's a sitcom where you can't get the laughs smooshed together.

I'm actually having a go at writing a novella. It's a non-comedy piece and I'll be interested to see if I can finish it.

Hey! I just finished a novella thing, copycat.

Not as novella idea as you thought...

Did he give any other feedback, Tiggy? Story notes, characters etc? There must have been something useful when it comes to improving your script, or even just your writing in future.

Good thing is that you've established contact with someone, at the very least!

I'm putting finishing touches to a couple of short stories. Just had a short story accepted by found fiction too. Also thinking about the upcoming sitcom trials

Autobiographical, I hope? :)

Well it's based on the adventures of a confused, young man...

After using Celt X for ages I finally caved and treated myself to Fade In (http://www.fadeinpro.com) last night. It's glorious.
