Fa la la la la

This was a reply in a thread but it had so many lines I thought I'd post it here.

Q. What goes Fa la?

A. I don't know what does go Fa la?

Q. A Carol singer hit by a bus.

A. What goes Fa la la?

A. Another Carol singer at the next bus stop, just before the bus hit them.

Q. What goes Fa la la la?

A. The Bus.

Q. What goes Fa la la la la, la la la la?

A. A Carol singer waiting for the bus and it hasn't arrived.

I don't get it at all.
Have you seen "talents around the world" ?

I get it. But it's middle class joke. And not a good one. Sorry.

Thanks both, It was just me rambling away, It made me laugh but I was drunk. I have seen Britain's Got talent not seen talents around the world.

Middle class joke, I have never been told that one before, didn't know that was a bad thing, but yes it is not a good joke, middle class or upper class or working class.

You just told it two months early, it needs to be told at Christmas, nobody wants to be told jokes about Christmas why we are still trying to enjoy summer!

The first one is quite funny, ina dopy-arsed way. I'd laugh if you came out with it when I was drunk.

The 2nd & 4tt work in a way, although the comedy is essentially that the joke has been stretched too far.

NO 3 I don't get at all. And I'm middle-class, so I probably should.

Thanks FunnyHaHa, I have been writing my Christmas sketches make sure I get them filmed in time for Christmas maybe that is why, it had me.

Thanks Gappy, I read it this morning and it wasn't as funny as I thought it was last night. The third one was supposed to be a play on the word fa as in far away. I know if I have to explain a joke it is lost. I will put it down to being a drunken folly. And I am working class I should have used a more working class Carol song, anyone would have done.

It's just a joke, passable, little bit heavy going but works.
I have no idea why it's apparently middle class.

Thanks Sooty, I think it is the choice of song, it surely not the bus.

Oh anyone can have a Christmas carole

lucky Carole

I got a chuckle, but mostly because my ipod coincidentally shuffled to Fairytale of New York as I opened the thread

Not sure about middle class, but it's an elephant short of an elephant joke :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elephant_joke

Thanks enigmatic and yes I can see it needs some elephant, maybe the bus should have been an elephant.
