NJ Job Interview

JUSTIN - After being forced out of her job by bullies Alex Gibson was inspired to study law by the Julia Roberts movie Erin Brockovich.
It reminds me of my story. I turned litigious to make my tormentors pay. And like Alex I also won. You should have seen their faces when they had to admit that even though I smelt it I may not have necessarily dealt it. But what will the newly qualified hotshot do now?

INTERVIEWER - Thanks for coming, Alex. Our legal team could certainly use someone like you. I like your perfume, what is it?

ALEX -
It's Life is Beautiful by Julia Roberts.

INTERVIWERER -
I suppose it's appropriate you're wearing a scent by the woman who played the woman who made you the woman you are today

ALEX -
Erin Brockovich? I was inspired by her, but only because Julia Roberts played her. I'm inspired by all of her roles. Especially that one when she realises that despite everything she previously thought she is in love with the man she thought she wasn't in love with

INTERVIEWER -
That's all of them.

ALEX -
I know, she's consistently brilliant

INTERVIEWER -
Anyway let's get started, shall we? Erm apart from the situation that led you in to law, can you think of a time when you overcame adversity?

ALEX -
There was a time when I locked horns with an upper class woman. She thought she was better than me and she refused to work with me because I was beneath her. But then Richard Gere bought me all of the clothes she was selling

INTERVIEWER -
That's the shopping scene in Pretty Woman. Let's just move on. Describe your perfect day, what three things would you do?

ALEX -
I suppose it would start with a nice big breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day. Then I'd take a nice little walk to my local church. Third thing? Oh I'd spend the evening with my lovely boyfriend

INTERVIEWER -
Eat, pray, love!?

ALEX -
The film not the book

INTERVIEWER -
Get out

ALEX -
I'm sorry. Give me another chance. I know I come off as a bit obsessed, but that's a positive more than it is a negative. I give everything one hundred per cent. Look at my track record. I've faced up to every obstacle you could possible imagine and I didn't only survive I thrived.

INTERVIEWER -
I suppose we all have our foibles. I mean under it all we're both just lawyers

ALEX -
Exactly. I'm just a lawyer...in front of another lawyer asking her to give me the job
