Teary Where tf is West Quantoxhead? Sounds a little more exotic than Bognor, the one I went to.

Curiously, given the day, it is very close to Watchet. :D

When the sun's out, you can observe the Somerset geologists as they hack into the cliffs, taking the chalets closer to an "in the sea" experience.

At night, you just get a lovely warm Ready Brek glow from the nuclear power station lights at Hinkley Point.

(Also known as St Audries if that helps)

I don't think we have the same kind of holiday parks in Aus. Are they basicaly like a caravan park but with all cabin accomodation, a cafeteria and loads of entertainment?

Pontins Hemsby twice early 70's with the parents and siblings.
Then again 1980 with brother and mates.

Enjoyed both immensely, though for very different reasons!

More recently all uk Center Parcs with my family (inc Oasis in Cumbria but not the new Woburn) and one in Holland (which was identical to UK apart from the mayonaise). Great times had and generates a feeling of serenity and safety.
Too bloody expensive now though.

I've been to Butlins with my eldest son, which was good but flipping expensive.

We've been to a few Haven camps since - Coombe Bay, Caister and Pwllelli - and they're pretty good. We tend to alternate a day on the camp - ie kids' stuff - with visits to nearby National Trust places and the like. Pwllelli was ace. Loads of castles nearby and stunning scenery. A shame it was in Wales. This year we also stayed in a smaller camp in West Bay which is where the beach scenes from that detective programme with Olivia Colman and David Tennant in were filmed.

Aw, I've been there a few times. (The place not the camp.)
Sadly not during filming though.

You could have come and visited us zooo. There was loads of room in the caravan, what with there only being four adults and five kids there.

Never. Again.

Yikesaroony.

I liked it that their favourite game was to come in and wrestle me awake at five in the morning.

The kids, not the adults...

Kids love Bert.

Funnily enough, in real life I actually look far more like Ernie.

Ernie's the one that gets all the chicks.

I mustn't look that much like him then.

Laughing out loud

I went to Butlins in Minehead as a kid and enjoyed it.
