Blurred red lines

A rather weak attempt to make Blurred lines be about bombing Syria
sorry

Everybody get up
Everybody get up
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

[Verse 1: Assad]
If you resist what I'm trying to say
If you resist my homicidal rage
I will be shelling Holms
I will be using mines
Maybe I'm out of my mind
[Pharell:] Everybody get up

[Pre-chorus: Obama]
OK now you used gas, it's time to unilaterally invade you
But you're an arab, baby, it's in your nature
Just let me liberate you
Hey, hey, hey
I don't need no UN papers
Hey, hey, hey
Putin is not your saviour

[Chorus: Assad]
And that's why I'm gon' take on the world
I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it
You're an Arab churl
Can't let it get past me
You're a Nazi spastic
Talk about getting blasted
I hate these UN red lines
I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it
But you're a good girl
Like when I bombed Tripoli
Bama' wanna get nasty
Load up, bomb free
[Pharell:] Everybody get up

[Verse 2: Assad]
What do they make dreams for
When you get them machine guns
What do we machine guns for
We're spreading sarin all over the place.
I feel so lucky
Hey, hey, hey
You wanna bomb me?
Hey, hey, hey
Gonna get Hilary to hug me?
Hey, hey, hey

I put the song on in the background as I was reading it, some of the lines go well. would make a good YouTube mashup video, either by adding the lyrics to the original song at the bottom or grabbing the midi and singing it yourself. I like the second option best.

Well if its at all workable I was going to send it to News Revue and Treason SHow, they like thudding, musical satire.

But thanks for the tips, interesting technical stuff.

(technical stuff scares me, but so does posting letters)

Maybe the lines:

OK now you used gas, it's time to unilaterally invade you

&

Like when I bombed Tripoli.

Can be trimmed to make it more rhythmic.

(I like technical stuff it excites me, posting letters confuses me, I never know what stamp to buy these days)

The problem with taking the lyrics and overwriting them as you go.
Is that it doesn't often scan well
Unless you sing each bit and make sure the rythym is spot on.
Don't make it where your rushing 5 syllables into 2 to make it fit.

Also when substituting lots of different references makes the whole narrative hard to follow, I think it needs a clear story with the killer rhymes concentrated on the bits people remember best from the song.

I know you have to have special big ones for big envelopes what's that all about?

And you can get wifi on the bus?

erm garlic bread.

yup all true which is why songs aren't my forte, I was kinda hoping some one was going to like the idea and write it them selves.

I do like the idea
& blurred lines is a good popular song with some interesting scope for funny rhymes.
Don't bin it.

I may have a go again, but if anyone else wants it it's all yours.

What an awful song blurred lines is, bleurgh I much prefer Call Me Maybe

My wife stopped me from sending them big cards to my aunty because they cost so much, I used to stick 4 stamps on them just to make sure, now I just send the normal size cards but put extra kisses in them.

Garlic bread, rhymes with dead and lots of other things, like red and bed.

And yes as Mr Sunshine says, you have to go over and over it again to get the rhythm right.

Why were you sending your auntie such big cards?

Tell you what just for a laugh and if you want to play with it, I will grab some clips of Assad and Obama from YouTube, and the song from that thick guy and mix them together using your lyrics at the bottom of the screen and see how it looks.

Do you want me to do it as it is or you want to work on polishing up the lyrics first, I don't mind.

I may do them but not anytime soon

Oh right, well that chat up line didn't work then.
