The most popular of the Carry On films (different thing to the most critically acclaimed) tend to be those set here and reflecting British life, I find.
Odd, I much prefer the film parodies: Up the Khyber, Cleo, Screaming, Jack, Cowboy, Spying, even Follow That Camel (not so much Up the Jungle, Dick, Henry or Don't Lose Your Head).
Of the later everyday British everyday life ones only Doctor and Camping really hold up, with Abroad being tolerable. Loving, Matron, At Your Convenience, Behind and Girls are all utterly atrocious.
