8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown - Series 1 Page 2

Six episodes have been recorded and the series was originally announced and promoted as such, but Channel 4 have since decided to cut it back to four editions. We presume the other two will be broadcast as specials at some point later in the year.

Bastards.

Bastards.

Yes I don't understand why they've done that! Why don't they just show them all in row.

They read my comment on page one of this thread and realised I was correct.

You asked a question, rather than made a comment-even if it was rhetorical.

Nope.

I've enjoyed these so far but I can't see the joke lasting. There's a limit to the number of times they can pretend not to know the rules for comic effect when they've already shot a dozen shows.

The beardy bloke they wheel in halfway through (I've forgotten his name) is going to need to up his game too. A comedy costume isn't going to cut it; he's no George Dawes.

Sorry.

Truly getting sick of Joe Wilkinson. His shtick is really thin to begin with and it's getting thinner and thinner. The whole "wacky random, here I'm handing you a marrow that makes no sense" thing just doesn't do it for me.

How can wackiness be thin schtick? Surely it's overdone if anything?

Another very funny show tonight! Laughing out loud

This works so wonderfully well that I now prefer it to the regular 8 Out Of 10 Cats. So many great guests, consistently funny Jon and Sean, always cute Susie and Rachel. I actually think the weakest link in this is Jimmy, because the only scripted part (what he does during the 30-seconds, jokes and conundrums) more often than not fails to amuse. Still, an episode of this is packed with laughs and I want them all. NOW.

Can we have the kittens every week?

Loved it, had me laughing my arse off. I'd like them to do some different shows as well though. Like a 'Come Dine With Me' with some celebrities that you actually would want to watch. I'd love to see Jon Richardson really make an effort and everyone else just taking the piss.

Ha, that would be great.

I feel like that's already happened... it hasn't, has it?

I'd love to see David Mitchell on one of these episodes. I THINK he would do very well with the letters round, possibly not with the numbers, but it would also be funny if we was terrible at it. It was funny seeing how crap Myles Jupp was, despite how typically upper class and posh he is... And Rhod Gilbert, the Welshman of all people, being absolutely brilliant. I think Jon is jealous of him.

The Come Dine with Me idea is brilliant... I can totally see Jon wearing an apron and putting on an incredibly earnest attempt. It would also be funny seeing how uptight he would get having a bunch of people and a film crew in his flat f**king everything up. And then you'd have Sean Lock making something completely inedible and possibly getting pissed and setting the kitchen on fire.

There was a Come Dine With Me mash-up at some point, but not with Cats. I've a feeling Sean may have been one of the guests though. But I'm not sure - I loathe that programme.
