Advice on Critique forum form please

As a newbie here could someone please advise me on -

When offering critique is it ok to post re written sections or offer new or improved jokes?

I only ask as on another (playwrights) forum I haunt it is considered bad form to post re write work as part of the critique, and doing so often provoked a violent response from the author.

It would appear to be more relaxed here but are there (written or un-written) rules?

regards

Usually fine as long as you attribute it

I always ask first

I did not mean for use elsewhere, I meant on this forum as part of the 'critique'. Is it ok to publicly offer suggested lines or jokes that you think might improve the original?

Go for it, if the original poster doesn't like it, they'll let you know ;)

That's what I meant its polite to ask but not neccesary

I think it's fine, so long as you say "If you don't mind, I woud lhave treated it like this", rather than "You're an idiot, my superior skills would have done it properly, frogspawn".

As with everything on here, tact is the key, a little politeness goes a long way.

Now, stop asking f**king stupid questions, you twat.

Hi Gappy,

I hope you don't mind me re writing the above but I think -

"Now, stop asking such f**king stupid questions, you tedious twat". Scans better.
