You still in the extreme father son combat league?
The dangers of criticism Page 2
The reason you see those caterwauling bints on the X-factor auditions getting all shitty with Cowell and co. for having the nerve to tell them they are shite, is because they've all been bought up with the "Be anything you want to be ... Living the Dream...You're beautiful just the way you are" old codswallop.
It's not so much being brought up with that rhetoric as the fact they've already been through several rounds of smirking producers telling them "wow, you're so.... *different* from the other contestants, let's just do another interview segment and then you'll be able to show your... *unique talents* to the judges and you're a dead cert for the actual show"
I think we should do something similar actually - set up a "Sycophancy" forum to fill people's heads with gushing praise and insist they're bound to have producers banging on their door within the next week. Only the best and very worst scripts are allowed anywhere near Critique.
Quote: Ben @ July 20 2013, 9:45 AM BSTI liked this, Sooty. I fear, though, that people will still continue defending their scripts like their own children.
I've only been here a short time, but I genuinely haven't noticed this. I've found most people eager for critique and happy to receive it. But I am a newbie.

Kall lives on!
As for the sketch, I liked it and thought it had a certain something, kind of Charles Dickens meets Dr Seuss in 3D motion.
