RIP Ray Butt

No thread on this so I start one. RIP one of the best directors ever lived.Butt and Sullivan a great partnership! I miss him do you??

I can't say I miss him...but he was involved in the making of my favourite sitcom (and others). So, RIP Ray!

Sorry to hear this news. I feel that they were in a different league from anyone else in their era. And the late 70s and 80s, while patchy, weren't too bad.

Undoubtedly they were a bridge between the Galtons and Simpsons and.......well what?

There have been a lot of very good things ever since but to chime broadly with the times, the key need in sitcoms is surely to emote.

I remember he was quite critical of the episodes made after he left. He said once he even thought the 1996 trilogy looked "tired".
