True story - I've built a machine that uses patterns, algorithms and science to predict likely goalscorers. It predicted Rooney would score against West Brom, so I signed him.

I picked Rooney purely on a hunch. A hunch which paid off. Luck always plays a big part in these things. When Hazard got a hat trick the other week, I'd captained him for the first time. I thought he'd have a better game than Suarez that week, but it was nothing more than a hunch.
I think we should inject some reality into this forum. The truth is that it's been a very unpredictable season and people have benefitted. As far as I'm aware, no-one's actually going to the matches and making notes on the players. I made notes on Suarez when I went to cup game at the Emirates and it was immediately obvious why he hadn't been scoring, which is why I captained him the following week, but even so it's was still essentially an educated punt.
It's okay to have a hunch but there was nothing to suggest that Rooney was going to do a f**king thing against West Brom. In fact everything pointed the other way, from his diabolically low shots-on-goal tally over the last three months to the two he blasted miles over from thirty yards out in the international match, mid week.
It's luck gentlemen.
