At least Don didn't moan about people who didn't post. & suggest they be chucked out of the league.
Come back Johnny Twunt, all is forgiven!

Fascinating scores on the doors as always.

Congratulations to everyone and especially to George K who is ahead this week in "the mini league".

Didn't he do well!

Forgotten my sign in so I've got no idea where I am. Can't make transfers either which is my excuse!

I think virtually all the top choice strikers weighed in with (at least) a goal and an assist/two goals, so it would have been a bad weekend to have an unfancied striker or an injured Van Persie.

I'm not getting enough points from my defence at the moment - not helped by Pellegrini taking off Nastasic before sixty minutes to deliberately spite me.

Wouldn't have happened under Mancini.

I think it's a bad show from 'The Don' not posting. I seem to remember me and the 'Sunshine' and Ben posting last season through very thin and thick. Unless he's dead of course. And then only a note from his mum will excuse him.

How long has the league been going?

Who won last year?

Are you three the new wave - like Southampton, Swansea, Cardiff?

How about a brief historical overview?

Thanks, man! Though Badge can overtake me if Benteke recovers and plays a blinder tomorrow.

a) Don't know ask...

b)Gerry McDonnell who won last year by a flukey million points

c)I like to think of myself as a kind of Port Vale. A minor club who has a supporter more famous than them.

Last time I saw him he was sat in Tesco's car park waiting for Godot.

And Godot will be pleased to hear that I've never even heard of this Vlaar bloke.

:) I wasn't actually referring to you, Steve, as you were on 35pts or something when I wrote my ungracious comment, but obviously since you've never heard of the Villa captain and you bought and owned Ross Barkley without ever watching him play and you're a hundred points ahead of me and heading the table you do now actually confirm my assessment of this game as bingo.

I'm banned from Tescos but yeah, the meter's running.

Originally barkely was just a cheap option in order to have more expensive midfielders alongside.

As for Vlaar
You don't need to know whether defenders are any good, just whether they play regularly.
That's why I've got Dawson who's apparently a bit shit.

Thanks, R.

btw any Robbie Williams fans on here (not me) might be interested to know that Morrisons seem to stock his entire cd output in their £2 recycled section. When I was browsing there the other day, it seemed like every other cd was one of his. A bit like going through the vinyl box in charity shops and finding tonnes of Simply Red.

Poor Dawson. He's getting a lot of stick over at the Spurs forums as well. Thread over there - Positives After The City Game. Best response was, "I've got a Naan bread in the fridge."

Laughing out loud

I must say I had a feeling in my waters that Spurs were on for a beating. I had listened to their last game on the radio and they seemed to be riding their luck. That's why I stuck Vertongen on the bench although he has been a top defender. That combined with City's home form added to a potential iceberg.

The game that really amazed me was the Merseyside derby. The main reason I didn't choose Suarez as captain was Everton's stalwart defence! Three goals later...

City v Spurs was a strange game. Spurs looked ok till Lloris hit another clearance to a City player that lead to their second goal, then City woke up, having been pretty lethargic, and smelt blood.

I had Walker as my third sub, so I was hardly optimistic beforehand.

Everton v Liverpool was hugely entertaining.

I must say I wasn't that committed. Vertongen was first up for me but thankfully my highly trained team of physio's ensured they stayed injury free :)

Pondering over transfers.
I was going to leave it this week, but I'm having another look
