These are supposed to repulse the sexual advancee' But it has been reported that a lot of Chinese men actually like women with hairy legs and it has made the problem worse.
It's getting tougher to make money in China so entrepreneurs need to invent new products and create demand.
The point is that Western women could probably achieve the hairy legs if they didn't shave/wax for a few months, whereas Chinese women tend not to grow so much hair on their legs. Anything so hirsute would be rather different and scary to Chinese men. The majority of mainland Chinese women (according to my research) don't wax or shave their armpits, legs or elsewhere, as they never have much hair there in the first place. And they don't have a constant diet of Western porn telling them pubic hair should be removed.
