Is Mandela Dead Yet? Phone sales caller wind up

Brian 'Nasher' Nash, the guitarist in Frankie goes to Hollywood, has been winding up a South African telephone sales caller. Very funny! :D

That's a bit crap to be honest

Well I enjoyed it. Each to our own :)

Tuumble seriously though the comedy was a bit hackneyed

but I really wouldn't be making fun of Nelson Mandelas death on broadcast radio.

It's going to squish your nascent career

You're a bit crap, sooty. Why do you shit on so many people? The world is not your critique forum. If you want to go around saying this stuff in real life you have every right but what's the point in shitting on Tummbles piece when all he did was share it to us?

You really are a dick and don't PM me to talk about it because I couldn't give a shit.

Sorry Jez, not trying to hijack your thread with this.

If I PM'd you everytime I thought you were making an assinine emotive response I'd be prime minister.
Which is why I suppose I only ever PM you when you're moaning about your life.

Though to be honest my pad chopped off the bit that I posted later when I realised it was missing. About it being foolhardy to make jokes about dying beloved celebrities.

Still Lee thanks awfully for providing the one infallible troll test on BCG.

If you're not a troll expect an insulting post from a moderator.

Soots, it wasn't on any radio show, least of all mine. He recorded it using his mobile phone and put it on his Soundcloud page. All I did was share the link.

Thanks for the concern Lee but Sooty has a right to say whether he liked it or not. He doesn't, I do, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

Ah right then apologies Tuumble I automatically assumed it was part of your estimable radio show (which I have listened to, big fan of 80s synth pop. What can I say it helps me relax).

Mandela is the last truly great politician standing. When he dies we are left with a bunch of vapid nonentities that aren't fit to wipe his arse.

I'm not really disputing a negative response, but headlining another person's work as crap really does not do anyone who wishes to feel comfortable posting on a forum any favours.

You may not mind being told it's crap within the first reply but a lot of others will. It reflects as badly on the forum as it does a moderator attacking a member, so for that, sooty, I do apologise. But damn soots, take a moment to consider your actions before calling your friend/fellow forum member "crap".

It's not hypocrisy here because this isn't the first time I've mentioned this to sooty, this is why I blew up at him.

I know where Tumble is coming from, he's a lovely guy, as is Sooty, I suppose its all down to that old chestnut as to whether some things just aren't suitable to comedy. Lets not go down that cul de sac please.

As for Mandela he's remarkable not so much for what he made happen in so much as what he avoided.

His abbility to put progress and forgiveness stopped South Africa sliding into anarchy.

Actually Leevil I think we both meant what we said, lets leave it at that.

I'm feeling sick.

I have to admit I found this all a bit puzzling. There seemed to have been confusion that it was actually me personally who created this audio file.

Nothing was prepared in advance, it was just a silly phone call where someone, who just happened to be an 80s pop star, made daft comments as he went along.

He'd had a flurry of sales callers and chose to lead the phone operator, who just happened to be South African, by keeping her hanging on thinking she had a sale. He was playing a role of an absent-minded half-wit and he certainly doesn't talk like that in real life.

It's not quite as catchy as Relax.
