Dear Ladies

I couldn't find a thread about this so I will start one.

Quirky sitcom starring Dr Evadne Hinge and Dame Hilda Bracket, spinster friends who reside in the picturesque village of Stackton Tressel

Anyone have watched this? Is it on DVD?

Never even heard of it.

Aaron must know something about this. He wrote the guide!

What's it about then?

It was in the news letter so I started a thread on it.

Oh right, I haven't read this weeks newsletter yet. I'll check it out!

You can buy them on DVD here https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/dear_ladies/buy/

A fun sitcom. Not exactly a lost 'gem', but certainly deserving of a few runs on Gold.

I've got all three series. Only watched Series 1 so far and it's okay.

But I'm a bit of a Hinge and Bracket fan and have dozens of their radio shows on my iPod too.

If you're not a H&B fan you may not be hugely impressed. Maybe watch a few clips on YouTube to see what the humour is like.

Trivia? It was written by Gyles Brandreth!

Well, I won't buy the DVDs unless I see the show beforehand.

Your loss. :)

I made the mistake of being about 5 minutes late one for one of their shows.

My seat was about ten rows back in the stalls. Total humiliation !

They started again just for me !

Do you know they have a Gala Evenings DVD, too? It's just musical performances rather than a sitcom.

I love Dame Hilda's singing - brilliant!

Yes, it's in the box set that I will buy shortly (using the link on this site!)

I have to smile when they do 'Come Boys Let's All Be Gay Boys' from The Student Prince !

I hate to tell you this David but they're not...

Oh bugger. I'm not going to spoil your fun.
