Another one of my favourite Carry On films. Huge dollops of sauce, and some wonderful scenes in their own right. If only the stupid women didn't spoil it all at the end!
What Women Was That
I just say Fircombe all!
I'd seen the film about five times before I was old enough to get 'Fircombe'. Who says these films aren't multilayered?
... I'm not sure I've ever got that before.
I am 26.
It was Fircombe by the sea actually.
With Miss Prodworthy living there
Even that's a joke - 'prod-worthy'.
The film was full of double meaning names. ?
Watched it, in my box set rotation tonight as there was f'all on TV, and quite an enjoyable romp, despite there being no KW, HJ or CW, but fortunately there was plenty of flesh on view.
Star for me was Kenneth Connor.
And instead of one of the usual half hour TV Carry On shorts as a filler on the DVD, they tacked on a wasted behind the scenes of "Carry On Location", fronted by June Whitfield - this I have to say was a complete waste of time and June's talent.
Yeah I quite like this one despite it missing some regulars, and I did think it rehashed Cabby's theme of a women takeover to a large degree. The later films did tend to repeat earlier films afaicr.
Well apart from the first few, they were all formula. Still, I guess that means if you like one, you'll like all of them. I used to watch them when I was about eight and I just liked the slapstick elementi - the smut was over my head.
I have to go for a whole day without making any innuendoes. It's long and hard but I'll pull it off.
The characters names were always a joy in the films but perhaps they wouldn't use Sidney Fiddler or Cecil Gaybody these days, even though they were funny at the time.

All over your head?
Which one?
When I saw Barbara Windsor, all the blood rushed to my head.
