Maybe I should make my main character a Disco dancer and his sidekick epileptic.
That would be silly. Why would a disco dancer need a sidekick? (unless it was part of his dance).
still, it's your baby so why not.
When they're having dance offs and its a stalemate the Disco dancer would just let his sidekick on the dance floor and wipe out the opposition 
Now there is a climax for you! I can't imagine frost or morse ever having a dance off. You're onto a winner me thinks.
